Firstech Ships DroneMobile iPhone Alarm / Remote Start
Firstech DroneMobile iPhone App and Installed GPS/Security/Remote Start Module
June 2010 - Firstech, the makers of CompuStar, has announced DroneMobile, an iPhone app that works with an installed module to provide GPS, vehicle security and remote start functions. The DR-1000 is the company’s GPS and cellular module, which would be installed by mobile electronics installers. The DroneMobile app is free and would be downloaded by the customer.
Through the DroneMobile app, users can track a vehicle’s current location on a map. Along with the vehicle's location, users can view any available vehicle status information, such as the vehicle’s battery voltage, temperature, alarm status and more. With GPS, DroneMobile has the option to receive important alerts, such as geo-fencing, points of interest, theft, towing, curfew violations, speed violations, low battery and service reminders.
The DroneMobile DR-1000 will be available in two packages. Users without a remote start may purchase the DroneMobile DR-1000 system for $549.99 MSRP including basic installation. For those already with a compatible alarm and/or remote start or for those that want a stand-alone unit, may purchase the DroneMobile DR-1000 module for $349.99 MSRP including basic installation. One year of basic unlimited service is included with every unit ($29.99 value). GPS tracking requires the purchase of the premium plan. DroneMobile will be available early July 2010.
Although the DroneMobile app is currently only available for iPhone users, one can access complete vehicle control through any web browser. According to Firstech, user can expect Blackberry and Android apps before the end of this year. DroneMobile is designed, engineered and manufactured in the United States.
