prophesized can only hope to improve

what size speaker wire for 1000 watt rms?

i have a hifionics tx1505d that i am installing in my front trunk (mid engine car). the sub is going to be installed behind the drivers seat so the speaker wire for the sub will be running from the front of the car where an engine normally would be, through the firewall, and into the cabin. the total length should be no more than 5 feet.

ive never used speaker wire this long before so i am unsure of what gauge to use. the sub will be seeing 1000 watts rms.

For short runs no, but in long runs the speaker wire you use can mean the difference between a damping factor of 200 and a damping factor of 20 for your amp.

It wouldn't suprise me if it were even shorter. I'm running about 1 1/2 ft from 1 term cup & 2 1/2 ft from the other term cup.
