Box Size For Older Type R

So i picked up a 12" Type R and can't for the life of me find the recommended size for it (swr-1240d). Was hoping sealed to save on space, and I happen to have an extra box kicking around for it. Thanks!

That sub would do best ported. If you insist on sealed, try between .7 and 1.0 cubic feet.

I think the box I have is about 1 cube so for simplicity sake I'll put it i there for now. What would I be looking at for ported if I go with that down the road?

1.7 cubic feet to 2.0 cubic feet depending on how many watts you'll put on it and where you'd want to tune the port.
