Radio playing up after swapping head units

Hi all,

I'd like to start by saying that I'm extremely new to the topic of car audio and have extremely limited knowledge, so bear that in mind in your responses :P

I've recently upgraded the head unit in my 2002 Nissan X-Trail T30, and am now having some trouble with the radio. Depending on the direction the car is facing, different frequencies lose or gain signal. This problem has only appeared since I changed the head unit.

I've double checked all the wiring and even the antenna itself. Just thought I'd check if anyone on here had any suggestions before I go and spend over $100 at a car audio shop.

Thanks

Extra Details

Some extra details I forgot to mention in the OP:

* The AUX and CD functions work perfectly

* The new head unit is a Pioneer DEH1350MPG

* I have only experienced troubles with FM signal, yet to try any AM stations

Recheck all the wring from the radio to the antenna and check the antenna itself as well.
