12 year delay

I have just started driving again after 12 years. It's a really long story. I have a standard cab truck and I need some sound. 12 years ago I had the same style truck and this is the system that was in it. Sony head unit, 4 pioneer 4x6 speakers(stock locations) 4 sony 6x9's(2 in each door) 2 12" JL subs and 2 kicker 1000 wat amps. I just ordered 2 sets of Infinity Kappa 4x6 speakers to replace the stock speakers. I should have talked to someone first but the stock speakers are killing me. Things have changed so much I just have no idea where to start. The truck has an aftermarket clarion cd player in it already(came with the truck). I would like to put subs back in speakers in the doors, amps and eventually a new head unit. I can't remember much about how that system was set up so my question is....what's the next step? If I put 6x9's in the doors and run all 6 speakers off of one amp how do I control the balance between the speakers in the door with the rear and front speakers? Is there a specific style sub to run in the limited space behind the seat of a standard cab truck? Should I run one amp or two? I just can't remember all the set up specs so I could really use some help.

This amp will do it all. If it were me, I'd buy 6x9 -> 6.5" adapters. 6.5" speakers usually just sound better tonally, and don't make mids & highs as muddy.

solid for the price

good coax.

These are a little more money, but sound very good.

This 12" is just under 5" deep, goes in 1ft3 sealed, and being D4 will wire to 2 ohm to get the most out of the sub channel on amp.

Thanks for the reply. I have a wiring question. It's been a while since I've wired a system. How should I go about wiring the door speakers up to the other 4 speakers. The door speakers are in truck doors so I'm curious as how to balance the sound of all the speakers involved.

If you want a nice balanced sound, skip the 4x6s and the extra speakers- install a great pair of 6.5" components in the doors, seal them up and deaden them. Amplify them and pair them with a good subwoofer (also amplified and installed in a custom enclosure)- a much better approach to scattering speakers throughout the cab if you want cohesive and accurate sound.

I already bought the 4x6's. Unfortunately I bought first and asked later. I've made all kinds of custom enclosures and it's an older truck that has no speakers in the doors at all so positioning is no problem.
