Best Components under $150 shipped?
Just like the title says... whats the best I can do under $150... Id like to be closer to the $100 range if possible. Doesn't need to be perfect, I don't listen to loud music, mainly for SQ.
Thanks! |

the PG RSD components are a nice set for the price, haven't heard the arc components, but the ppi 356cs components that are exact clones of the old a/d/s 346 components that use to sell for 400$ are a complete steal for 140$ I doubt for 150$ you can find much better then them for under 150$

Which of the CDTs are better?
They have so many models I don't know how you are supposed to tell them all apart. I was originally going to go with those awhile back but I think the ones I was looking at sold out. I like that some of those come with the free speaker wire since I would have to buy that anyway. Thanks for all the help. |

Depends on your budget, the higher the series the higher the quality on the tweeters, crossover and mids the more $$. Under 2 bills the CL-61A-Pro's are a very nice set.

Im kind of confused with their description... according to the woofersetc site if I read it right, they both have:
CL-6A mids Satnet 400 Crossover The difference is the tweeter... but the cheaper set (CL-S60A)supposedly has the stepped up TW-24 tweeter from their description... So to me it looks like the set for $109 is the better deal, except you don't get the free speaker wire... confusing. |

Then these, CL-61A/TW-24, look like the same as the CL-S60A's with a higher model crossover for $40 more.
It looks like the monster cable runs $15... so it looks like with the CL-61A's Id be getting a worse tweeter but free speaker $15 wire for $20 more than the CL-S60A's. So the CL-S60A's seem like the obvious choice if Im reading all this correctly... If it helps any I have about 75 watts per channel to run to them. |

So basically its a choice between a better mid with the 61's or a better tweeter with the 60's? For what would be a $5 difference when you take the speaker wire out of the equation.
Whats better on the mid with the 61's... they need to clear up their descriptions on woofers etc... both say the same mid, quoted from woofers etc... The pics on each one look exactly the same for the mids as well. "The component set's CL-6A Midranges are an industry benchmark, featuring pressed treated cones for a smooth natural response. Butyl Rubber surrounds are also used for increased suspension and excursion, while staying resilient to the tough automotive atmosphere. On top, you'll notice a tuned "bullett" in the center of the speaker which helps create a wide but still accurate listening range. On the bottom, a strong ferroferrite magnet structure and vented voice coil for increased power handling, which is responsible for the tight mid-bass they effortlessly produce. The engineering goal with the Classic speaker was to create a driver which can re-create "True Midrange" out to, and even beyond the 5000 Hz point. Vocals, guitars, and even pianos have never sounded this life-like. " |

Also what sized speaker wire should I use with these? Theyve got this for $10 that seems like a good deal... Is that brand ok if it matters?

Its hard to choose because I haven't heard any of these. I kinda want to go with CDT because its not really a huge mainstream brand like Alpine. I think I might go with the CDT CL-S60A's. I emailed woofersetc to check on the difference between those and the CL61A's since their listing is so vague.
