Aux cable for Eclipse CD8053

Hi, I am new to this forum. I recently picked up a few older Eclipse head units (CD8051, CD8053, and CD8454). I acquired these head units because my 55040 cannot play music off of my Ipod Touch and Iphone 5.

I see a problem with thee new head units I bought. It appears that I need a proprietary Eclipse brand AUX cable (Eclipse AUX-105). One end I see connects to the back of the head unit. The other end looks like a plug of some sort that definitely will not fit into my Ipod Touch or Iphone 5.

Can anyone tell me if this plug is the correct cable for integrating my Ipod or Iphone to either the CD8051, CD8053, or CD8454? If so, how is this done? If not, what must I purchase to get my devices to play on any of my new head units?

Your help here is greatly appreciated.

If it has a headphone output, then this cable will adapt Eclipse HU's to your iPod/Phone. The downside is no control from the HU, you have to control track selection from the iPod/phone.

Otherwise, check out the Ipc-106 by Eclipse. It allows control of the device from the HU's faceplate. Available on Ebay for $80.

If you look at the Eclipse AUX-105 cable, you can see that the one end of it looks like it will not fit into an Ipod or Iphone. The other end will fit into the head unit just fine. Unless there is an adapter, I just don't see how this cable will work with those head units I have.

I know of the IPC-106. But, I have heard that the SQ is not as good running through the IPC-106 as compared to running straight through the AUX cable.

In addition, I am leaning toward using my CD8051 as my next head unit and it does not look as if the IPC-106 is compatible with that head unit.
