If I had to guess, it'd be that car audio cables had more strands.

Not sure about the strand count but it is pretty flexible

Here is a pic of my 4/0 being flexible

well, yes. I had figured that. I was meaning if the difference was negligable or not?

Depends on what you want to do with it. You can feel the difference if you try to bend it, but it's still plenty flexible for most installs. If you're planning on making 90 degree bends with the cable though, welding wire probably wouldn't cut it. However I have no idea why you would need to make 90 degree bends with your power cable...

in general, car audio does have a higher strand count because a high degree of flexibility is more desirable in a vehicle. however, having worked with a lot of both styles of cable, i can say that welding cable does not present any issues unless you are really really needing to bend it.

on a side note, i hate when people say that strand count has something to do with the gauge of wire

Trying to come up with Battery company links is proving difficult. So many companies have their own sites. But then don't list individual battery specs. I want links that allow the each CAF browser to compare spec's. AC Delco does not list spec's. Interstate does, Optima does. Exide?? Deka??? Not to mention Johnson Control's seams to be buying other battery manufacturers.

The retailers that carry their own brand have one of the above companies make them. Some even have multiple manufacturers.

So many good Battery manufacturers out there. So few usefull links.

It's the thought that counts, right?

I don't have the time or I'd look - but what would actually probably be very helpful to anyone looking for a battery, I think better even than a manufacturer's specs - is a sort of "glossary of battery terms"...
...definitions for battery specs. What is CCA? What is CA? Etc.

That way, at least they'd know what to be shopping for.
