Cleaner power
Which mono amps are better quality and provide cleaner power Cadence iA series or Hifonics Brutus series. Also, what about durability?

Punch "Hifonics" and "protect" into the forum's search function for many threads containing compelling reasons not to buy Hifonics. |

Cadence for sure. The Hifonics Brutus series are infamous for going into perma-protect mode. You should also look at Alpine, Soundstream and Clarion for clean power and reliablity at a good price.

(2) IDQ12V2=700 RMS that leaves me with around $200 for an amp

You have a $200 budget for 700 watts? No way you get an iA series amp. For a budget though I would look into:
The FXA1700 is about $270: http://www.powermaxelectronics.com/p...&idcategory=10 The TXA3002 is $130. It is a bit shy on power, but it should still be plenty at 600 watts: http://www.powermaxelectronics.com/p...&idcategory=10 I actually own an FXA5100 and I have an SQA4 (which is the marine edition of the FXA4060) in my closet which is up for sale, so I have personal FXA line experience. I really like the amps and use them for a purely SQ based system (driving CDT ES-062i Golds with EX550i Xovers and the DRT-26A upgrades, and a pair of Adire Koda 10s). They definitely deliver clean power, and I recommend them highly. I see they are a bit over your budget, but they are definitely closer then the iAs |

^^^ what he said, or beef up the budget and get an iA2 for $249 - granted you can wire the IDQ's to present a 4 ohm load to the amp.

Yeah, it would work. I don't know much about those Xenith amps though. I know they are Cadence's entry level amps, but they have alawys made amps that are worth more than we wind up paying for them. It may be worthwhile to ask Jasonpaul (search for him here in the member's list, he is the owner of Powermax that I linked) if those amps put out rated. He used to work for Cadence, so he knows the product very well. Hell, it may be worthwhile to see if he can get that FXA1700 down a few bucks too
. It is a damn fine amp.

or a million. I've had a few Hifonis amps punch out on me. My Cadences always kept running strong (one even through a car fire!)
