02 sunfire door install
Ive read that sunfires can fit 6.5's easily, and well now that i am trying to install them, it looks like its going to be a tight fit. i bought the CDT es-620, and how im looking at it im going to need to cut the door pannels and install a grill for them. i was hoping i could just hide them.
im doing it as we speak, so quick answers are good. i have mdf ready to make brackets, but im unsure how im going to have them fit! as is, they would stick out just under the window crank which could cause a problem if the grill i install boes out too much. google isnt much help on the subject either, mostly just questions as mine is. please somebody help. im going to try to find a camera to take pictures |

I don't think there is much advice to offer you here. I mean there is only X amount of space between the back of the inside door pannel to the window. If the speaker depth exceeds "X" then your going to be getting into one or the other. Obviously you can't do anything about the window being there, so the only options that you have are to
(1) cut into the pannel & fabricate a new speaker grill (2) Buy a shallower set of mid range speakers (3) Change the location of the speakers (Kickpods?) Sorry I couldn't help more, but you should probably look into mounting locations and depth prior to making a final decision on which speakers to purchase. |
