just wondering what you all use to clean em' up? can you put armor all on the foam surrounds? i know that if you put it on some materials armor all can **** it up...

or how about the silicone tire stuff? can it be used on the cone as well(plastic cone)...?

probably a stupid question to most, but just wondering what will freshin' em up the best... ;)

thanks....

I don't clean my subwoofers. I would highly recommend that you do NOT put any tire shine or any other similar products on your subwoofers.

If they have dust or dirt on them for some reason, wipe them down with a damp terrycloth. If that's not cutting it...use a MILD soap and make sure that you get all the soap residue off. This does not apply to untreated paper surrounds...do not wash untreated paper surrounds. You would think that would go without saying...but I've come to learn that when dealing with most people...nothing goes without saying.

you cna use armorall... its fine as long as you keep it OFF the surrounds. itll eat a foam surround, but it will definately make the cones look nice.

Abra isn't there like a "paint" you can buy to treat your untreated paper surrounds?

Yes, there is. I've never used it though, so I can't really comment on how effective it is.

Most untreated paper cones are used for home audio or pro audio drivers which are normally stored in a climate controlled environment like a home or auditorium. I don't really see the point of treating them anyway. If you have a car audio driver with an untreated paper surround, chances are it is either a cheap piece of crap...or very old.

Cetaphil is a pretty good lotion. 13 bucks at Wal-Mart for the 16 fl oz bottle.

Armor All works just fine. I keep a can of the presoaked Armor All wipes just for that reason, well I did until I had my new enclosure built so now the subs are completely enclosed but it doesn't hurt the surround at all. I've been doing it for years.

thats it, im lighting my can of those presoaked armorall whipes on fire. D@mn pieces of sh!t. I'm really mad now.

Is there any other type of whipe like those that wont fvck my sh!t up? I kind of like the convenience of being able to just have them right in my car and use it whenever some dirtball like my roomate decides to put his dirty *** hands on my dash.

Indeed, Armerall sucks the hard one.. hate that stuff. Some of my friends, who no longer use it, had cracked dashes due to that nonsense...

you shouldnt use regular armour all on your tires either, my aunt works for autotire here in st. louis and armourall makes the sidewalls of your tires weak and cracks them.
